There’s bound to be corruption in foreign exchange – Osinbajo Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo on Thursdaysaid it was impossible for corruption not to exist in the nation’s foreign exchange as it is currently structured.
He also said there were ongoing discussions on how to reduce interest rates.
According to a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr. Laolu Akande, the Vice-President spoke while receiving members of the Tactical Committee on Recession from the House of Representatives led by Committee Chairman, Dr. Bode Ayorinde, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
He said it was in the nation’s interest that corruption is dealt with because the menace remains a threat to the nation’s survival.
He said, “We need to address the fundamentals of that abnormality. If we do not address it, no matter what we say, things won’t work.
“I think it is very important, especially for us who are in government today either as legislature or executive. We have to address this issue, it is a fundamental issue; everywhere in the world, even where they do not have the problems we have, they are addressing the issue. “
